When the water pressure pump is running, it can sometimes be hard to hear it. This is especially true if under way. There have been times when we ran a tank dry, and did not know it because we could not hear the pump. This is hard on the pump, and could eventually burn it out.
To solve this issue, I added a red LED next to the Water Pressure breaker switch on the DC power panel. I then tapped a wire into the connection between the pressure switch and the water pump motor, and ran it back to the LED.
Now, whenever the pump is running, the LED lights up. Our new habit is to look at the panel whenever we run water to make sure it goes off. If it does not, we know it is time to change tanks.
