We wanted a custom burgee to go along with our boat graphics and color pallet, so Susan designed a flag for us.
We then found a place online called NorthStar Flags that would do single flags at a reasonable price. (Most other sites were setup to do runs of multiple flags of the same kind.) NorthStar also had a great deal to add a second flag for a small extra charge, so now we have a spare for when this one is ready to retire.
We ordered a 12″ x 18″, single-sided flag. Since it was going to fly on the starboard side, we chose to reverse the front and back so it would show better from the outside of the boat.
In retrospect, I would not do this again. This burgee is now backwards from all the others we have. INext time I would either order the standard single-sided, or spend the extra $ for a double-sided flag. I also would probably go up one size. This one is a bit small in relation to our boat.
Regardless of size or direction, it is fun to have our own burgee. Now whenever Susan is on the boat, we raise the burgee to let the world know the queen is in residence. 👑⛵🚩
